The Midwest Folklife Festival is a two-day free outdoor public festival that highlights the ethnic and folk arts, customs, and practices of the participating Midwestern states. Each year this family-friendly festival is hosted by a different Midwestern state, and this year Illinois is joined by Minnesota and Wisconsin in presenting their states artists and folkways at the festival. The once bustling 19th century communal settlement of Bishop Hill has been selected as the festival site for 2012 and will provide an exciting location for the festival.
